You're driving down the road, and you notice that there is someone riding their bicycle on the road with you. Do you know what you're supposed to do in order to keep everyone safe? There are some things to take into consideration when you're sharing the road with bicyclists.
  • You are required to yield to bikes like you would another vehicle. They're going to keep riding along with you. If you don't yield, you could end up hitting them.
  • Since bicycles have no turn signals, you should watch for their hand signals.
  • Passing a bike requires you to leave 4 feet in between you and them.
  • Watch for children on bikes. They don't always understand the rules of riding on busy roads. It's important that you keep them safe.
  • Leave enough room in between you and a bicycle in case you need to stop without warning.
